SpotMe, a global technology provider of mobile event platform solutions, has been selected as a Red Herring’s Top 100 Europe Winner. This annual award recognizes the most promising private technology ventures from the European business region.
Launched in 2001 as a proprietary mobile device enhancing networking at events, SpotMe pivoted in 2011 into a mobile application technology and service provider to become today the number one trusted event app platform for Fortune 500 global organizations. SpotMe CEO Pierre Metrailler says: “We are honored Red Herring has recognized us as for this distinguished award. Throughout our 16 years of existence, SpotMe has navigated several technology cycles and this selection is a recognition of our ability to continuously reinvent ourselves.” The company has grown into a global technology and service provider with a team of over 100 talents based in EMEA, Americas and Asia-Pacific.
Red Herring’s Top 100 Europe list has become a mark of distinction for identifying promising companies and entrepreneurs. The Red Herring editorial team selected the most innovative companies from a pool of hundreds from across Europe. The nominees were evaluated on 20 main quantitative and qualitative criterion, which include disruptive impact, market footprint, proof of concept, financial performance, technology innovation, social value, quality of management, execution of strategy, and integration into their respective industries.
“This year was rewarding, beyond all expectations,” said Alex Vieux, publisher and CEO of Red Herring. “There are many great companies generating really innovative and disruptive products in Europe. We had a very difficult time narrowing the pool and selecting the finalists. SpotMe shows great promise and therefore deserves to be among the finalists.”
The 100 winners stood out from an extremely tough set of competitors, making their awards even more hard-earned. They came from a multitude of different sectors, and will all be watched keenly as they make future strides in Europe, and beyond.
